Tele Novella was formed from the ashes of several well-received indie bands when former Agent Ribbons guitarist/vocalist Natalie Ribbons joined forces with ex-Voxtrot members Jason Chronis (bass) and Matt Simon (drums) as well as keyboardist Sarah La Puerta. The quartet worked quickly, blending a whimsical neo-psychedelic feel into its pop-friendly tunes and soon playing locally and touring the country. Tele Novella's debut 7", Don't Be a Stranger, arrived in late 2013 and sold-out immediately. Their next 7", Trouble in Paradise is due out in March on indie imprint American Laundromat Records.
"A psych-pop unit that carefully coats its '60s-style harmonies in layers of fuzz." - SPIN
"The group is pretty sensational, creating some of the best pop music to come out of city, and dare I say, the world as a whole." - Austin Town Hall
"The delightful 60s pop sheen and head-bobbing, calliope-like rhythm lure the listener into a strange magical world, but by the end the merry-go-round starts to spin as the band slowly, and subtly, brings the full flower of the arrangement to bear. - KUTX
"...forges together the members vintage records together in one stylistic heap, for a real cool attitude sound." - IMPOSE
"Along with members of Agent Ribbons, the Austin-based group craft charming indie-pop - not unlike Voxtrot’s sunny 2007 self-titled LP - with an added hint of ’60s girl group pep." - Consequence Of Sound
