ABOUT
American Laundromat Records was founded in April of 2004 by indie music enthusiast Joe Spadaro. What started out as a modest hobby quickly boomed into a smart, well-regarded indie label with the likes of Frank Black, Kristin Hersh, The Dresden Dolls, Tanya Donelly, Matthew Sweet, Britta Phillips (Luna), John P. Strohm (Blake Babies), They Might Be Giants, and many more contributing to.
American Laundromat Records releases primarily tribute compilations and 7" vinyl split singles. The label is based out of Southeastern Connecticut in a picturesque New England coastal town. With a small dedicated staff, lots of interns from nearby universities and a passion for indie music, we work long arduous hours and have devoted over 18 months to a single project ('High School Reunion' for example). We make no money at all - seriously, not a dime (yeah - we have day jobs), but it's not about the money for us... it's all about the music! We're music fans first, and as long as we have lots of coffee, tacos, and plenty of orange soda ('Hanks' is our favorite) - we'll continue putting out great records.
DISTRIBUTION
American Laundromat Records is distributed by Arrow/ATM, Baker & Taylor, AEC, Super D, Darla and CTD in the USA, Cargo UK in the UK and Europe, P*Dis and Art Union in Japan, and Scratch and FAB in Canada. PRESS
Please understand that we have a limited supply of promotional copies and are unable to send one to everyone who asks. If you'd like to receive a promo, please send us a sample of your publication and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
FILM & TV LICENSING
To license a song from one of our artists for film, TV program, or commercial, please contact us by telephone: 860-460-8903. This is the same for student filmmakers or those looking for festival rights.
We have a special film & television department to help expedite your music needs and look forward to hearing from you.
DEMO POLICY
We are no longer accepting unsolicited demos. We are a small label with limited resources. It's impossible for us to listen to all the demos sent in. Please don't send us links to your website or myspace page either as we just don't have the time to listen no matter how great it may be. Thanks for understanding.
MYSPACE?
Of course we have a myspace page.
WIKIPEDIA?
Yep, we're on wikipedia too.
